COM API¶
This module contains the types for the COM-Application-Server.
The main class is COMApplication
which is instantiated with the Prog-ID ‘trace.check.Application’.
- Sample usage:
>>> import win32com.client >>> import time >>> exampleWorkspace = r"C:\\Daten\\ExampleWorkspace" >>> testPackage = r"C:\\Daten\\ExampleWorkspace\\Packages\\test.pkg" >>> traceCheck = win32com.client.Dispatch('trace.check.Application') >>> traceCheck.IsApplicationRunning() False >>> traceCheck.StartTimeout 90 >>> traceCheck.StartTimeout = 120 # Change timeout for application start >>> traceCheck.RunApplication(exampleWorkspace) >>> while not traceCheck.IsApplicationRunning(): ... time.sleep(0.1) >>> traceCheck.GetVersion() 6.4.0.55478 >>> pkg = traceCheck.OpenPackage(testPackage) >>> pkg is not None True >>> testEnv = traceCheck.GetTestEnvironment() >>> execInfo = testEnv.ExecutePackage(testPackage) >>> while execInfo.GetState() == "RUNNING": ... time.sleep(0.1) >>> execInfo.GetPackageResult() 'SUCCESS' >>> execInfo.GetReportDb() 'C:\Daten\ExampleWorkspace\TestReports\test_2016-05-17_173443\test.trf'
More examples (C#, Excel) can be found in <installation directory>/Help/api/ExampleCOM.
Warning
Due to limitations of the Windows COM interface compared to standard Python calling conventions, keyword arguments are not supported. Optional parameters documented with keywords can only use their default values when the corresponding argument is omitted.
For example, a direct call such as Exit(timeout=60) raises an error. Use Exit()
to apply the default timeout of 60, or pass the value positionally: Exit(45).
