What is a workspace?

The workspace is the basic directory for all files that ecu.test needs for executing test cases and that can be described as project specific in the broadest sense. It is a central storage of all configurations and test cases.

Within the workspace relative paths are used. Here, all settings are stored, that should be the same on all systems during the work on one project accross multiple computers and with several staff via Version control or that should be separated due to varying demands when working on several projects.

Workspaces can be created and managed via the dialog Workspace creation. It is recommended to create individual workspaces for different projects or use cases in order to minimize the influences of the test cases on each other.

If ecu.test is started another workspace can be selected via File ‣ Change workspace. ecu.test will be restarted afterwards.

Which files and folders are in the workspace is described in section Workspace.
