User Python library

A Python file can be selected via Extras ‣ Edit user python library. That file must be contained in the directory defined at Directories. If that directory does not exist the question is asked on first calling this menu item whether it should be created. After a Python file has been selected a simple editor is opened in which the file can be edited.

The menu item Extras ‣ Update user libraries serves to re-load the library. That regards all Python files in the directory and is necessary if files are modified in an external editor while ecu.test is open.

Info

Any existing project, package and parameter set generators are also updated. If a project editor is open during this process, it must be closed and reopened, so that this change is taken over in the toolbar of the editor.

Access to the functions from test steps is possible via the keyword user.

Generally the access looks like this:

user.file name.function name(parameter). Here again a context menu provides assistance after user has been entered.
