Tools¶
A tool in ecu.test is a supported software that enables accessing test quantities.
The most tools provide more than one interface to access the system under test. For example ControlDesk offers the access of model quantities and can also address application quantities (like calibration and measurement quantities) on the control unit. To separate those separate interfaces, ecu.test uses so-called Ports.
Certain tools have the ability to manipulate test variables via stimulation. The tool-specific stimulus capabilities are listed in the Tools with stimulus support section.
Tools are grouped into categories that describe the type of access they provide. For an overview and further details, see Tool categories.
