Specifics¶
In order to use the standard port of TwinCAT tool adapter, at least ‘TwinCAT CP’ or ‘TwinCAT ADS Communication Library’ (download) has to be installed. The license key for “TwinCAT ADS” is free of charge and can be ordered at Beckhoff.
Notes to signal recordings
There might be a delay of a view milliseconds when starting and stopping recordings. Thus, if a value changes immediately after starting or before stopping a recording, this change may not be documented. To prevent problems when analyzing the recording file, we recommend to add a delay using a wait test step when starting or ending recordings.
Flash-Port
Caution
This port is only supported when using TwinCAT2
To be able to also use the flash port, it is necessary to install ‘TwinCAT PLC’.
The only difference between the standard port and the flash port takes place when loading a test bench configuration. Using the flash port, the specified TwinCAT configuration is activated on the automation device and the denoted PLC program is loaded.
