SpecificsΒΆ

The multimedia interface allows ecu.test to interact with image and audio sources. Especially in the audio case, ecu.test may act as a source as well. Typical usage is for infotainment devices of the vehicle (dashboard, screen of headunit) and for the testing of the communication of the automotive systems with handheld devices such as smartphones or tablets.

Depending on the number of devices or sources to be used, it is possible to create various image and audio ports. The image and audio signals can be used in the test case as well as in the trace analysis or during signal recording.

  • Image: This interface is able to read pictures and videos from a number of different sources. Especially during development of tests, for some of the sources it is possible and advantageous to show a live preview of the image.

  • Audio: You can choose between all connected audio devices that are recognized by the operating system.

For details on how to

  • interact with the image or the audio

  • create multimedia test steps

  • set up the reference images

  • define the language for text recognition

  • define the voice for speach output as well as the profile for speech recognition

please see the pages on the media access tab in the TCF and media access tab in the action window. Additionally to the built-in possibilties of the test steps described in the previous links, you may find many more features of image, video and audio objects and their usages in the Interal API documentation as well as the documentation on media related objects.
