SpecificsΒΆ

The QUANCOM connection serves to access a model and allows failure simulation for the following QUANCOM measuring devices.

Precondition is the installation of the currently applicable QLIB driver of QUANCOM, to be found at http://www.quancom.de.

Instructions for usage are contained in chapter Tool interfaces.

FAILURESIM – Sample excerpt FIU file

  • The following excerpt contains the structure of the FIU file (XML mapping file). It specifies pin assignation for the device.

  • Each pin must be assigned a unique name (dkey=”Pin0”) and the corresponding channel (<CANAL-NUMBER…>0</CANAL-NUMBER>).

    Warning

Counting channels begins with 0! This is why each channel assignation should be checked before commissioning.

    Warning

If the device doesn’t support the job JOB_READ_BACK_RELAYS a error assignment resets the previous error state.

Port type MODELACCESS

  • Provides a port for access to digital inputs and outputs It is to be considered that in case of more than 32 relays writing has to be carried out in two steps. So if all relays of USBREL64 are to be connected first the relays 1 to 32 are considered, immediately afterwards the relays 33 to 64.

  • Auto start: Should not be changed.

  • Device number: Shows the number of the device to be opened. If a device is connected, the value is 0, for the next device of the same type the value would be 1 etc.

  • Activate time-out: Activates the time-out which switches off outputs after a certain time span.

    Not available for USBOPTO/REL 8.

  • Time-out period: Provides the various time-out periods of a device. This option is effective only if the time-out has been activated.

    Not available for USBOPTO/REL 8.

ETHOPTO/REL 64/32/8ΒΆ

Ethernet modules are communicated with in the same way as corresponding USB devices (see USBOPTO/REL 64/32/16/8/4).

However, in addition to the QLIB driver the data transmission protocol has to be installed. Installation instructions can be found in manufacturer’s information at http://www.quancom.de.

USBAD8DAC2ΒΆ

Port type MODELACCESS

  • Provides a port for access to analog-digital inputs and digital-analog outputs.

  • Auto start: Should not be changed.

  • Device number: Shows the number of the device to be opened. If a device is connected the value is 0, for the next device of the same type the value would be 1 etc.

  • Volt inputs: Determines whether inputs should be made in volts or as digital values.

  • Volt indication: Determines whether read inputs should be shown in volts or as digital values.

  • Voltage range settings: Determines the input mode.
