Specificsยถ
The IXXAT-RBS box is a rest bus simulation for FlexRay and CAN bus. There is a corresponding tool adapter which allows reading and writing access. The tool adapter can be used if the box is connected locally or to Tool Server.
Test bench options
Host IP: IP address of IXXAT-RBS
Host port: TCP port of IXXAT-RBS (default: 15005)
A2L file: File name with path to an A2L file belonging to the bus database (on the Tool Server computer)
Port type BUS STANDARD
Auto start: Determines if the port is to be started automatically.
BUS DB: <auto> selects at start the test configuration on the BUS access tab; otherwise a specific bus database may be assigned here.
Bus name: Name of the bus used (corresponds to the entries of the A2L file)
Bus channel: Channel of the bus used (corresponds to the entries of the A2L file)
Test steps:
Messages and signals configured for IXXAT-RBS are accessed by means of the Bus access tab. Those messages and signals may be pure reading quantities (measurement quantities) or writing quantities (calibration quantities), and for each type only writing or only reading test steps are allowed. The property, i.e. which type it is, is determined in the A2L file.
Writing quantities:
For messages it is possible, by means of the context menu , to activate or deactivate sending. As regards signals there is a further distinction between default and special signals (CRC value, alive counter). Here it must be considered, that in case of writing default signals, the value of the signals has to be indicated, whereas for special signals only the strings โoffsetโ and โfreezeโ are allowed and lead to the corresponding signal manipulation. If the test step Reset is used the signal is reset permanently to โnormal transmissionโ which means there is no RBS manipulation.
Reading quantities:
As regards reading quantities it is important to consider that the identified quantities are those which were last received. That is why it is possible, right after the start of the test operation, that no values have been received yet and a faulty value may be returned. That problem can be avoided by starting test packages which access reading quantities with a pause of at least the duration of a bus cycle for the signal concerned.
