Widgets

ecu.test lab offers different widgets for different use cases. These are briefly explained below.

Controls

img_button

Button

Writes a configurable value.

Supported access types: Global Mapping, Signal / Parameter, Package, Expression.

img_call

Call Job/Package

Calls a job or a package with the specified parameters and displays the result.

Supported access types: Global Mapping (Job), Package.

img_selection

Selection

Writes a selectable value.

Supported access types: Global Mapping, Signal / Parameter, Package, Expression.

img_slider

Slider

Provides a graphic slider to select write values. The current value is read from the same source set in the “Read / Write Configuration” and displayed by its position on the slider.

Supported access types: Global Mapping, Signal / Parameter.

img_toggle

Toggle

Shows a toggle button to switch between boolean values. The current value is read and displayed from the “Read Configuration”. Toggling writes the defined values to the “Write Configuration”.

Supported access types: Global Mapping, Signal / Parameter, Package, Expression.

img_write_number

Write Number

Writes a number that can be entered in an input field for numbers.

Supported access types: Global Mapping, Signal / Parameter, Package, Expression.

img_write_text

Write Text

Writes a text that can be entered in an input field for texts.

Supported access types: Global Mapping, Signal / Parameter, Package, Expression.

Indicators

img_bar

Bar

Reads a value and visualizes it within a given range in the shape of a bar.

Supported access types: Global Mapping, Signal / Parameter, Package.

img_gauge

Gauge

Reads a value and visualizes it in the shape of a gauge.

Supported access types: Global Mapping, Signal / Parameter, Package.

img_indicator

Indicator

Reads the value of the configured global mapping and interprets it as a Boolean. Displays this Boolean.

Supported access types: Global Mapping, Signal / Parameter, Package.

img_signal_graph

Signal Graph

Displays multiple signals as waveforms.

Supported access types: Global Mapping, Signal / Parameter, Package, Expression.

img_table

Table

Displays one or more values in a table.

Supported access types: Global Mapping, Signal / Parameter, Package, Expression.

img_read_value

Value

Reads a value and displays it.

Supported access types: Global Mapping, Signal / Parameter, Package, Expression.

Miscellaneous

img_ecu_test_log

ecu.test log

Displays the current log output of ecu.test. The text displayed corresponds to the content of the ecu.test message window and is always up to date.

img_pagereference

Page Reference

Displays the widgets of a different view page. This makes it possible to re-use a specific layout of widgets in multiple views. It is possible to reference a view of either the current or a lib workspace.

Multimedia

img_image

Image

Shows an image which is read/generated dynamically. This widget can evaluate expressions and execute packages on click.

Supported access types (image): Global Mapping, Package, Expression.
Supported access types (click): Package, Expression.
img_html

HTML

Depending on the configuration of the widget, either the HTML text or the referenced HTML file is displayed.

img_video

Video

Displays a video stream. This widget can evaluate expressions and execute packages on click.

A URL and the type of video are required. The type of the video has to be supported by the browser (currently: MP4, WebM, and OGG). For a stream provided by ecu.test, the type “image/jpeg” must be used.

Supported access types (click): Package, Expression.

Custom Widgets

In addition to the widgets provided, you can also design your own widgets. These can be developed very flexibly in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS and have the same options for read and write access using packages, signals / parameters or global mappings.

These are some examples of custom widgets:

Your own widgets are available for selection below the supplied widgets in the sidebar and can be used in exactly the same way as the included widgets. If no explicit group is specified, a custom widget is added to the group “Custom Widgets”.

The integration in lab is described here (requires a started ecu.test and lab): Custom Widget API documentation

Custom Widgets are not supported in the demo mode
