Tab “Workspace”¶
The tab “Workspace”¶
The tab Workspace provides an overview of existing packages, projects and test configurations. These can be created and managed by means of the integrated explorer, and by favorites. Both windows can be expanded and collapsed by clicking on the identifier on top and using the double arrow.
The window “Favorites”
By default, the window Favorites is collapsed. It serves for temporary storage of links to important packages, projects and directories in order to accelerate access to them. They remain available also after a restart of trace.check.
On the upper right there are two buttons. The left one with the arrow symbol allows opening and executing, with a click, a marked package or project in the window Favorites. If a test configuration or a directory is marked the button is deactivated. The window can be emptied by one click on the right button.
The window “Explorer”
In the window Explorer are the package directory and the configuration directory and their contents displayed. All packages, projects and test configurations listed, can be managed and edited. It is also possible to create and delete elements.
Context menu in both windows
Depending on the type of entry (package, project, test configuration or directory), a right click opens a corresponding context menu with the following options:
Open package / Open project / Open test configuration
After confirmation of the menu entry, a new tab is opened for the respective element in the editor.
Display references
By choosing this menu item all packages are displayed which are referenced by, and referenced into, the current package. Packages in regard to which there are dependencies, are grouped in a list.
Select test configuration
The chosen test configuration will be selected in the window Configurations - without being loaded.
Protect package
trace.check provides means to protect packages und project archives from manipulations and from exposure of the test implementation.
Settings:
The destination path is the directory where the protected packages will be stored.
The section Access limitations allows you to impose limits onto the protected package:
no limit
Package only executable: The package can only be executed. I.e. the individual test steps are not visible to the user.
Package not editable: The package can be viewed and executed but not changed or saved.
If furthermore a password is specified, the protected package can be opened and executed only with this password. For security reasons the password must consist of at least 6 characters. If the password is lost, the contents cannot be restored, because they are encrypted with a key derived from the password.
In the file list all chosen files are listed. Individual files may be deselected here.
For further security of packages, signing a package will be possible in a later version.
The duration of the signing process depends on the number and size of the packages.
