The tab “Mapping”

The tab Mapping displays in a table all mapping items created.

The column Reference (origin) shows the mapping name, the column Element (target) the original name of the signal to which the mapping name refers. The column Type indicates the origin of the signal (either “trace file signal” or “BUS”).

A right click on a line in the table brings up a context menu with the following options:

  • Edit:

Opens the dialog Edit mapping item (see below).

  • Delete (only if in an opened global mapping there is an item of the same mapping name):

    Deletes the selected mapping item.

  • Add to global mapping:

Puts the selected mapping item into the current global mapping (in window Global mapping.)

  • Combine same elements:

If several mapping names refer to the same original (identical entry in column Element (target)), all but one of those mapping items can be deleted by this option, so that just one name refers to each original name.

A double click on a line opens the dialog edit mapping item. Here a mapping name can be changed freely. The possibility is offered to apply the changed name also to all packages in the package directory and/or all mapping files. Additionally, information from the respective database (“trace file signal” or “BUS”) is shown, depending on the mapping item opened.

Info

A global mapping of the same name overwrites those settings!
