Using graphically modeled reference signals¶

Predefined signals can be edited graphically with the Signal Editor, a tool included in ecu.test.

With this editor STI files can be created and edited. These files then contain descriptions of one or more signals. These signals can be used as reference traces while analyzing real traces.

Creating and editing reference signals

The usage of the STI file editor is described in chapter Signal Editor.

Using .sti files as traces

In ecu.test STI files are listed in the tab trace files right next to other trace files. They are treated similar to other supported trace formats. Subsection “Add recordings” of chapter Creating signal groups and recording groups describes how to add traces from STI files to recording groups.
