Properties¶
Some selected properties of signal sections are described below.
Some properties allow to select the definition type. The following options can be selected:
Formula : Calculation expression using parameters and numbers. The value resulting from the calculation is displayed next to the expression. The preview of the resulting signal curve can be done directly on the basis of the calculated value.
Input signal : Name of the input signal to be used. By using an input signal, it is possible to influence the segment curve with a signal originating from the test environment. The finally stimulated value can therefore be determined only at runtime of the test. The displayed preview of the segment course is therefore only rendered as a dashed line. For more details see Input signal.
Duration¶
Most of the segments have the property duration that specifies the length in time. The unit of duration is second. The SignalValue-Segment and the Operation-Segment have no duration property since for these segments the duration results from the data or segments used.
Comment¶
Each segment has an optional property comment that can be used by the tester to write a description linked to the segment definition, for example to help to understand the complete signal definition.
Interpolation¶
This property is available for the SignalValue-Segment and the DataFile-Segment.
Available interpolation types are:
forward : The value between two timestamps is equal to the value of the following timestamp
backward : The value between two timestamps is equal to the value of the most recent timestamp
linear : The value between two timestamps is linearly interpolated using the values at these timestamps
