Mapping file editor¶
If a mapping file (.xam file) is opened in the mapping file editor, its contents can be edited without the containing mapping elements to become active for the test execution.
By default, mapping files are saved with the file extension .xam in the folder Parameters. They can be used in test configurations and on project elements.
Horizontal toolbar
All buttons contain tooltips for details. If a button function is unclear, moving the mouse over it opens a help text after a short time.

In place editing
This editor is enabled to edit the mapping properties “Name”, “Raster”, “Category” and “Description” in place via double click.
Info
The Edit dialog common in the Global mapping is also available using or double click on the columns “Type” or “Target”, which are not editable in place.
Sorting
Sorting of mapping items is combined with grouping them. E.g sorting the items by “Acquisition rate” causes a folder to be shown for each acquisition rate in the mapping file. These folders do contain all items which use the specific aquisition rate. This is the same for “Category” and “Type”. Sorting by “Name” or “Target” does not group, but only sort by the values of the property.
Folders can be renamed, which results in the property changed for all items in the folder.
Drag and Drop
It is possible to set a property on one or more mapping items by dropping the items on a folder representing the property.
Mapping items and test quantities from the action window can be added to the mapping file via drag and drop. Dropping on the columns “Name”, “Aquisition rate”, “Category”, “Description” or on the empty space below the item list adds the item to the mapping file.
If mapping item or test quantity is dropped on a folder ,the mapping item is added to the mapping file and the corresponding property is set. Dropping on the column “Type” or “Target” of an existing mapping item causes this mapping item to be updated using the dropped item. This results in a new target and potentially a new type. To easily recognize these columns, they are highlighted whenever an item is dragged.
Info
All actions on folders are not available if sorted by “Type” as the type is not editable.
Info
If the same mapping file is opened both in a mapping file editor and in the Global mapping, all user interactions on this file are blocked in the Global mapping.
