Supported test steps

ecu.test drive generally supports the execution of all test steps. However, not all test steps are shown in the user interface. The following test steps are displayed in ecu.test drive:

Block (Structuring)

If the test step is configured as interactive, action and expectation are shown and read aloud. An image referenced in Parameter is additionally displayed. If the block is empty, test execution is paused until a manual assessment is performed. Otherwise, contained test steps are executed regularly.

Selection list

The configured elements are shown as options. Separators are not displayed. Only single selection is supported. Therefore, the test step must be configured with minimum 1 and maximum 1.

Input dialog

A single input field is shown. Its value is then stored in a variable as configured in the test step. Currently, only one input of type Text (single-line) is supported.

Image dialog (Image dialog)

An image referenced in the test step is displayed. The test step is paused until one of the configured buttons is activated.

Info block (Infoblock)

The HTML code stored in the info block is shown directly as an element and can be confirmed to continue.

Message dialog (Message dialog)

The configured message is displayed. The test step is paused until one of the configured buttons is activated.

Wait (Wait)

The remaining waiting time is displayed.

Test steps displayed if an expectation with time option is configured

Read

Mapping name, current value, expectation, and remaining runtime are displayed. Colored fields indicate whether the current value already matches the expectation or is close.

Read Reference

The display corresponds to the Read test step.

Calculation (Calculation)

The display corresponds to the Read test step. Instead of the mapping name, the evaluated expression is displayed.

Execute Job

The display corresponds to the Read test step.

Multi-Check (Multi-Check)

The display is similar to the Read test step, but it shows the current values and expectations of all contained test steps.

Package call

The display corresponds to the Multi-Check test step. Instead of mappings of contained test steps, package return values are displayed.

Diagnostics (Diagnostics tab)

The display corresponds to the Multi-Check test step. Instead of mappings of contained test steps, components of the diagnostics response with their expectations are displayed.
