Local mapping

The local mapping manages access to test quantities and package paths within a package. A local mapping item is generated automatically once a mapping test step is added to the test case. It defines which test quantity or package path is accessed when a test step based on this mapping item is executed. It also defines how a test quantity is accessed for all linked test steps.

The tab Mapping displays all existing local mappings. A little red cross in front of a mapping means that this element is faulty. This can for example happen if the assigned path is not available in the databases (dbc, a2l, model,…) loaded at the moment.

Mapping items can be managed the same way as described for the Global mapping.

Info

An element in the Global mapping of the same name overwrites all configurations of the local mappings.

Info

A local mapping always refers only to the test steps of its package. Referenced packages always use their own local mapping. A transfer of mapping information is possible by using Package references.

Info

Mapping properties can also be accessed directly from the dialog of a test step (see chapter Read / Write / Execute / Stimulus dialog). The changes will affect all test steps that use this mapping element.

Additional information on the usage of mappings can be found in the Mapping concept.
