    Port SERVICEACCESS - SERVICE 🛈¶

Port that supports active Ethernet service communication

    Stimulation¶

This port has no stimulus capabilities.

    Properties 🛈¶

    Name

    Available if

    Default value

    Valid values

    Type

    Description

    TCP/IP stack

    System

    [System, LwIP + pcap]

    string

‘System’ should be selected in simple cases, e.g., if the device under test can be reached using the operating system’s network configuration.

‘LwIP + pcap’ is needed if different network configurations for the same physical network adapter should be used, VLAN needs to be configured, etc.

The availability of several subsequent options depends on the value selected here.

    Physical Layer ❲Network Access❳

    Network interface card

    string

The network interface card or network adapter to be used for receiving network packets

Automatic data reception on test run

    ☑

    bool

Only operative if on the left for ‘Start’ either ‘Always’ is chosen, or ‘If necessary’ and the port is in use in the test configuration.

    MAC address ❲client❳

    TCP/IP stack is LwIP

    ‘02:00:4C:4F:4F:50’

    string

String (format: 02:00:4C:4F:4F:50), ‘default’ if the adapter MAC address should be used

    VLAN Settings ❲IEEE 802.1Q❳

    TCP/IP stack is LwIP

    VLAN mode

    TCP/IP stack is LwIP

    auto

    [auto, disable, single tagging]

    string

Set to ‘auto’ if the VLAN id from the database should be used, ‘disable’ if no VLAN should be used or ‘single tagging’ if a fixed VLAN id should be specified

    VLAN id

TCP/IP stack is LwIP » VLAN mode: ‘single tagging’

    0

    int

If incoming packets have a VLAN tag, they will be filtered and only packets having this VLAN id will pass. Incoming packets without any VLAN tag will also pass the filter.

    IP Settings

When no Consumer is chosen in Service Mapping and the mapping is used in a read test step, the settings here are used as a fallback.

    IP version

    IPv4

    [IPv4, IPv6]

    string

Selection of the IP version used

    Fallback IP address ❲client❳

    TCP/IP stack is LwIP

    string

IP address to be used as a client. It must be located in the same subnet as the IP address of the device under test, and must not be equal to the IP address of another participant or the IP address which the operating system assigned to the selected network interface.

    Subnet mask / prefix length

    TCP/IP stack is LwIP

    ‘default’

    string

For IPv4 addresses a subnet mask or prefix length can be given (format: ‘255.255.255.0’ or ‘24’). ‘default’ uses the default subnet mask of the network class of Fallback IP address (client).

For IPv6 only a prefix length is accepted and the value ‘default’ is not supported.

    Gateway address

    TCP/IP stack is LwIP

    string

IP address of the gateway that allows reaching hosts outside of the local subnet. Leave empty if no gateway is needed

    Fallback TCP/UDP Settings

When no Consumer is chosen in Service Mapping and the mapping is used in a read test step, the settings here are used as a fallback.

    Source port range

    ‘default’

    string

Source port range for service-based communication.

The value ‘default’ will select random ports.

    Example: 123,456-567,789

    SOME/IP Settings

    SD Multicast IP

    ‘auto’

    string

Multicast IP address to be used for Service Discovery. Set it to ‘auto’ if the value from the database should be used

    SD Port

    ‘auto’

    string

UDP port to be used for Service Discovery. Set it to ‘auto’ if the value from the database should be used.

Behavior in case of protocol errors

    ‘NotPresent’

    [‘ERROR’, ‘NotPresent’]

    string

Behavior of the test step when a protocol error occurs (e.g. the control unit does not respond). By default ‘NotPresent’ is returned. Alternatively, the test step can be evaluated with ‘ERROR’.

    Start Service Discovery automatically

    ☑

    bool

Service discovery starts automatically. Otherwise it must be started manually by calling the StartServiceDiscovery job

Placeholder value for automatic E2E calculation

    int

When this value is specified for an E2E element (e.g. CRC), upon transmission (in the test case or in the RBS) ecu.test automatically replaces it with the correct calculated value. The purpose of this option is to allow transmission of arbitrary fixed values (unequal to the value chosen here). Leaving this option empty completely disables the feature.

    Simulated Services

    TCP/IP stack is LwIP

    MAC address ❲server❳

    TCP/IP stack is LwIP

    ‘02:00:4C:4F:4F:40’

    string

String (Format: 02:00:4C:4F:4F:40), must be different from the client address

    Simulated services

    TCP/IP stack is LwIP

    string

List of comma-separated services to be simulated at run-time.

If the calculation classes are created in a project (subdirectory), the project name must be prefixed.

    Syntax: [<projectName>.]<ecuName>_<serviceName>

    Leave simulated services active

    TCP/IP stack is LwIP

    ☐

    bool

Leave simulated services active until the configuration is stopped, rather than just until the test case ends.

    Simulated router

TCP/IP stack is LwIP » IP version: ‘IPv6’

    ☐

    bool

Simulates an IPv6 router. This fools the real SuT into thinking that the simulated ECUs are on a different subnet.

Behavior details: The simulated router responds to Neighbor Solicitations (NS) with a Neighbor Advertisement (NA). The link layer address (MAC) used in the NA depends on the destination address of the NS. If the NA contains the clientIP or the routerIP as the destination address, the client MAC is used. If the destination address contains an IP from the active simulated services, the server MAC is used in response. Unknown destination addresses are ignored.

    IP address ❲router❳

TCP/IP stack is LwIP » IP version: ‘IPv6’ » Simulated router: ‘True’

    string

IP address of the simulated router
