Function access tab¶
On the function access tab all function values are shown that were retrieved for example from a connected LabVIEW VI.
A right click on a node opens a context menu by which various actions can be started depending on the type of node:
Function (
)
Execute:
Selecting the menu item opens the dialog Parameterize test step in which can be chosen how the function call is executed:
“ExecuteSynchronous”:
Selecting this option (default) results in a synchronous execution. The test execution is interrupted until the function call is finished.
“ExecuteAsynchronous”:
Selecting this option results in an asynchronous execution. The test execution continues after calling the function without waiting for it to finish.
“InteractAsynchronous”:
Using this option it is possible to modify parameters of a running asynchronous function call.
After confirming the dialog, an empty function call is inserted in the test case, which can now be equipped with variable accesses.
Create global mapping:
Selecting this option in the context menu adds the function path to the global mapping list. That can also be done via “drag and drop”. The meaning and use of mapping names is explained in the section Global mapping.
Parameter (
)
Read:
A left click on opens the dialog window Parameterize test step. The input options are described in chapter Read / Write / Execute / Stimulus dialog.
This action can only be inserted in the OUT block of a function.
Write:
A left click on opens the dialog window Parameterize test step. The upper part corresponds to the fields in the reading dialog. In the lower part, instead of an evaluation, a particular value can be assigned to a variable. By doing so the function can be parameterized.
This action can only be inserted in the IN block of a function.
Return value (
)
Read:
A left click on opens the dialog window Parameterize test step. The input options are described in chapter Read / Write / Execute / Stimulus dialog.
This action can only be inserted in the OUT block of a function.
