Port SERVICEACCESS - SERVICE-PASSIVE¶
Port for passive support of Ethernet services
Stimulation¶
This port has no stimulus capabilities.
Properties 🛈¶
Name |

Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Physical Layer ❲Network Access❳ |
|||||
Network name |
string |
Name of the network. Must be the same like the network name used by other participants whose packets should be received if no Switches etc. are defined in the SIL Kit configuration. |
|||
Controller name |
string |
An arbitrary name to be used when registering the ethernet controller to SIL Kit. |
|||
Automatic data reception on test run |
☑ |
bool |
Only operative if on the left for ‘Start’ either ‘Always’ is chosen, or ‘If necessary’ and the port is in use in the test configuration. |
||
VLAN Settings ❲IEEE 802.1Q❳ |
IPC is disabled |
||||
VLAN mode |
IPC is disabled |
auto |
[auto, disable, single tagging] |
string |
Set to ‘auto’ if the VLAN id from the database should be used, ‘disable’ if no VLAN should be used or ‘single tagging’ if a fixed VLAN id should be specified |
VLAN id |
IPC is disabled » VLAN mode: ‘single tagging’ |
0 |
int |
If incoming packets have a VLAN tag, they will be filtered and only packets having this VLAN id will pass. Incoming packets without any VLAN tag will also pass the filter. |
|
SOME/IP Settings |
IPC is disabled |
||||
SD Multicast IP |
IPC is disabled |
‘auto’ |
string |
Multicast IP address to be used for Service Discovery. Set it to ‘auto’ if the value from the database should be used |
|
SD Port |
IPC is disabled |
‘auto’ |
string |
UDP port to be used for Service Discovery. Set it to ‘auto’ if the value from the database should be used. |
|
Behavior in case of protocol errors |
IPC is disabled |
‘NotPresent’ |
[‘ERROR’, ‘NotPresent’] |
string |
Behavior of the test step when a protocol error occurs (e.g. the control unit does not respond). By default ‘NotPresent’ is returned. Alternatively, the test step can be evaluated with ‘ERROR’. |
Jobs 🛈¶
LearnBPFilter¶
Learns the endpoints (source IP address and port) of all needed services. Endpoints that are encountered within the specified timeout, but are not needed, will be transformed into a negative Berkeley Packet Filter which drops corresponding network packets. This filter will be used for reception in the test case as well as for pcap(ng) recording via this port. The negative filter may be extended by a user-defined part using BPF syntax. If the recording is already running, the learned filter has no influence on it.
Note: The job is no longer supported as it is no longer needed.
Parameterization
Parameter
Name |
Available if |
Default value |
Valid values |
Type |
Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
clearCache |
False |
[False, True] |
bool |
Resets the cache of a previous call. The endpoints which exist in the network will therefore be learned anew. But the call will take longer in this case. |
|
timeout |
5 |
float |
Time in seconds (float) until learning will be stopped |
||
userBpf |
string |
Optional extension of the negative filter. Please provide positive in BPF syntax what should also be discarded by the filter, e.g. ‘vlan 42’ |
Return value

Type |
Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
result |
object |
Dictionary containing neededEndpoints, otherEndpoints (for the negative filter), bpf (the resulting filter Expression), bpfLearn (filter expression temporarily used while learning) |
StartReceiving¶
Manually starts the reception of network packets
