Environment Simulation¶
Most environmental simulation steps contains a System identifier. The System identifier references the system that is used in the test configuration under Environment simulation -> Environment simulation. Test steps with the same system identifier are executed on the same system. This allows you to use several tools at the same time.
Load element¶
The Load element test step loads the selected scenario.
As Element path enter the desired scenario name as it appears in the tab Environment simulation displayed under the Scenarios node. If the tool connection is active the scenario can be selected from the list of all available scenarios by using drag and drop into the test case package.
The scenario is loaded after the test step is completed. Further environment simulation test steps now refer to the scenario. After loading, parameters of the scenario can be read and written.
As a rule, only one scenario per package should be used.
Start simulation¶
The test step Start simulation starts the simulation. As a precondition, a scenario must be loaded using the test step Load element.
After startup, the signals of the loaded scenario can be used.
Stop simulation¶
The test step Stop simulation stops the simulation. As a precondition, a scenario must be started using the test step Start simulation.
Different stop modes can be selected. You can either stop the simulation immediately or wait for the simulation to end. In the second case a timeout can be specified. If no timeout is set, the stop step waits until the simulation stops by itself, otherwise the simulation is stopped at the latest after the given time period has passed. If no stop step is set, the simulation continues after the test case has ended.
In addition, the option Reset simulation quantities can be used to specify whether simulation variables that were altered during the test run should be automatically reset. Resetting the variables is important to avoid cross effects between individual test runs. If this option is deactivated, the reset must be performed manually.
Check simulation status¶
The test step Check simulation status compares the final state of the simulation with an expected value. The expected value is selected from a given list. The following values are valid:
completed
aborted
failed
For the test step to work, a simulation must have run. That means the test steps Load element, Start simulation and Stop simulation must have been executed. If this is not the case, the test step ends with an error.
Currently, the test step Check simulation status is available for the following environment simulation tools:
Wait for maneuver¶
The test step Wait for maneuver waits for start or stop of a maneuver. For the Trigger the following values are supported:
Start
Stop
In addition, a timeout (in seconds) must be defined after which the test step fails if the expected start/stop of the maneuver has not been triggered.
Currently, the test step Wait for maneuver is available for the following environment simulation tools:
